Even though it's been a lot since this beautiful wedding, it's always lingering in my mind when I think of a beautiful and elegant couple. Everything happened flawlessly, we met their great and now friends wedding planners, and Gerardo and I kept the best memory of a wedding where the fun and elegance was absolutely mesmerizing.

The best of all for you, guys.

Your wedding was definitely a highlight, and we'll always remember it this way.

Viri / Armando Trash https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2022/1/viri-/-armando-trash It's been long since we had this gorgeous shoot with Viri and Armando, but it just felt right to post their pics now that the world has somewhat stopped and given me the chance to go through the old files. On their wedding day, I said that I had an enormous craving for some doughnuts, and to my surprise, the day we had the Trash the dress, these two wonderful human beings showed up to at the shoot with a box of doughnuts for me. Hahahah. So cool and so thankful to having met you guys. You deserve a life full of joy and doughnuts.

Thanks, always.

Andrea y Ricardo https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2021/4/andrea-y-ricardo I met Andrea and Ricardo online, our first meeting was online and we didn´t have an engagement shooting, so I didn´t meet them until the Wedding Day. You never really know anyone until you've spent some time together but since I arrived the ice broke easily and soon we were in the greatest vibe for a special day like theirs. Ricardo arrived and he was, as well, one of the most easygoing grooms I've ever met and since that point we had a chain of fortunate events and energy that lasted until I left at night.

I am so grateful to share the wedding of these two candid and noble human beings and more than honored to have been responsible to be able to document this important day for them. Thank you guys, for your trust, your energy, your willingness to hit the road with me and for being so authentic.

It was awesome!!!

Please don´t go hiking again with the dog thaaaaaaaaat far away!!!!!!:)

Sofía y Ernesto https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2021/3/sof-a-y-ernesto

It seems that we met years ago, before all this pandemic situation started, but Sofía and Ernesto went through it lucky enough to have never changed their original date and to get to their wedding and have a beautiful event that reminded us of the way weddings were before, but also, that simplicity is always elegant and the sunlight is always a blessing, despite being in February.

Sofía wore her mother's wedding dress, and the cushions and earrings were also hers from her wedding day, which was an awesome emotional touch, honoring her family and the history behind it.

The reception was held at a beautiful museum in Montemorelos, out of the metropolitan area and it felt like a little destination wedding with great weather and the most gorgeous sunset.

Thank you guys for letting me be part of your great day.

I'll be forever grateful.

Rubí y David https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2021/2/rub-y-david We went a long run since we had our first meeting.

Rubí and David are two noble kids who are madly in love and pursued a wedding that reflected their personalities and that perception of the world they have. But things happen... and pandemics, and we ended up having a small but beautiful wed session and a family only ceremony, but so true to themselves and so cool that nothing was missed, specially after seeing those tears in their eyes during their vows.

Life is a constant and dynamic movement.

Blessed those who understand it and adapt, without compromising their own joy and happiness in this brief period we are around.

May your life be full of moments like these, guys.

Thanks forever.

Marla y Javier https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2021/1/marla-y-javier

Having an international contingency might be a tremendous horror when planning a wedding, but it has helped us remember that the most important pilars in our lives are our famliy and those friends that have become part of our it. It is in the intimate celebrations that we value the most those who are there for us and those we love with all our hearts.

Marla and Javier had this beautiful intimate wedding and both a modern terrace in the city and in a green equestrian field in the gorgeous sunset light, and those who were there know that you don´t need a large number of guests to have the best day of your life.

May your love live forever guys.

Thank you.

Laura y Armando https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/12/laura-y-armando

When I first met Laura in a coffee shop several months ago little did we knew that we'd encounter big difficulties regarding her wedding. This pandemic, the priest in Chihuahua who canceled the wedding, the going and coming to Chihuahua, the call three days before the wedding to let me know that it wouldn't happen there anymore, my argument with VIVA AEROBUS on the phone because of the unexpected change in my flight schedule, plus all the changes they had to go through themselves. Getting married means taking life as it comes and overcoming those situations, as a team, as a couple, as two people that love and support each other, and adapting to this journey called life that presents changes all the time. Laura and Armando had their first lesson even before the wedding, but they managed to adapt elegantly and have their wedding with a small loved group of people, with the same love and excitement they would have had if nothing had changed.

I am honored to have met you guys and tremendously grateful that you value and appreciate my work the way you do, because there isn't greater satisfaction in what I do than knowing that my work touches and lifts your hearts.

May your life be full of blessings, and may you always face trouble they way you did in your wedding, KINGS.

Marlon.

Ana Fernanda / Ángel https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/10/ana-fernanda-/-ngel

Life is a constant change. We might make plans and base our wellbeing and happiness on them, but things can go differently, and then we face the choices of neglecting theses changes and live suppressed in frustration, or we accept them and move on from there. The people who I admire the most have this in common, they never let a switch in reality make them forget that we gotta be happy with what we have.

Ana Fernanda and Ángel have come a long way accepting a new reality and adapting to change gracefully. And even though we'll to wait for the great event in Zacatecas next year, we've just had a beautiful time in the ceremony celebrated in the original date of their wedding here in Santiago, Nuevo León.

Such beautiful time and light shared this glorious evening.

And the best is yet to come.

Thank yoy guys. You are TOP.

Cristina y Beto E session https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/10/cristina-y-beto-e-session Life and 2020 have played some interesting tricks on us, postponing this promised amazing wedding to 2021, and keeping us on the edge all this time. But all dates come and I know that when the wedding takes place in that beautiful destination it will be epic.

In the meantime, we had the chance to do this engagement shots before all this happened, and it feels good to go back to them and be excited of the time to come.

Wait for us San Miguel de Allende.

We won't take long.

Thank you guys.

Clara + Paco https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/8/clara-paco

One of the greatest honors that I have the chance to have is witnessing the love and the strong family bonds.

I had a special feeling towards Clara's family and now adding Paco up to the equation makes it even more special.

These two had this moving and emotional wedding, from the three sisters and mom getting ready, to the intense party that followed after.

I'll always be grateful guys, for trusting my work and my person to be the one in charge of creating these amazing memories.

May many more come in the future.

Rachel and Alberto https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/6/rachel-and-alberto There are some couples with whom you just click immediately, and I'm sure in different circumstances we'd have been very close and great friends.

Rachel and Alberto are these two easygoing and transparent kids and I loved being honored to do their engagement session and have a great time right before this pandemic started.

Destiny stopped me from being their photographer the Big Day, but I'm sure they'll have a beautiful and fun destination wedding as well.

Karina + Roberto Wedding https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/5/karina-roberto-wedding This was the last wedding of 2019.

It's sometimes still hard to grasp how it is that working for me represents meeting new people, tasting new flavors and witnessing new scenarios. It was the perfect wedding for closing the year and Karina and Roberto just couldn't stop being themselves and jumping around all night, in the chilly cold and the beautiful City Planetary as the background.

There are weddings that simply can't be forgotten, and this was one of them.

I didn't see it coming, but all of a sudden we were in the car drinking a beer and listening to Johnny Cash, heading to the second spot

we would use for the photos, and it was amazing. No point directing Roberto, cause he directed himself, lol.

Funny and out of the ordinary, they are made for each other.

Thanks, kids.

Elena and Manuel E session https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/4/elena-and-manuel-e-session A sneak peek to the Elena and Manuel E session. Right before the COVID-19 quarantine, we had the chance to have It done, relaxed for two hours and enjoy the beautiful and sunny afternoon the Universe gave us that day.

Each picture is a frame in time, in the non stop course of life, to remember how alive we felt, and how happy we were.

May your pictures be that reminder for you, for the rest of your lives.

Marcela and Alfonso https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/4/marcela-and-alfonso Marcela contacted me just about nothing before the wedding, at first I though it was because her original photographer had canceled or something, but the truth is that it was not the case. Marcela is simply a true relaxed and fearless woman, who just didn't want to stress out and let things happen.

As a result, I had one of the most laid back weddings I've ever had, and a beautiful sunset framing the First Dance. That sunset was a gift in that particular moment, proof that following our instincts has amazing gifts we don't always perceive; just like this sunset, just like this glorious reminder.

Always grateful.

Laura / Julio https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2020/3/laura-/-julio Laura and Julio decided they wanted to have their engagement session in the mountains of Arteaga, Coahuila, México.

It was winter, and we were able to see the mountains covered in snow, and to witness the marvelous spectacle nature had ready for us. It is weird how I had never seen anything like that in person, and how I was touched by seeing it. It was there, it was a gift, and we were free to appreciate it. These two enjoyed as kids, jumping and running all around, but at the same time having this intimate moments in the cold and the gorgeous sunset that was set for them.

Before the pics we were somewhat hungry and stopped at a local restaurant to have some "gorditas", and it felt good. Funny how life is simple, and how you sometimes need some gorditas and a beautiful forest to feel complete.

I'll be forever grateful to live these experiences and to be able to leave this unvaluable testimony.

It is a pleasure to be alive.

Thank you, guys.

Meli and Memo https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2019/8/meli-and-memo There are couples who become so close that we end up chatting about other stuff and sharing anecdotes and that have nothing to do with weddings; during the whole process and after the wedding is way passed. These are Meli and Memo, 2 kids who were so excited about this moment in their lives that even myself was caught into their emotional roller coaster.

Walking with them in this process made me really feel part of the family and listening to their feedback about my work touched my heart in a very special way.

It's been an honor to be part of this for you guys and I'll take you with me for the rest of my life.

Ada and Alfredo https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2019/7/ada-and-alfredo Ada and Alfredo live in the United States.

I suppose my work spoke across the distance, as if it were an ambassador, just like their smiles spoke to me through their photos: and then, one day, we were at a Starbucks signing a contract.

There are couples who are so filled with joy and kindness, along with their families, that it makes sense that they found each other, and that they are starting this life project together, willing to walk across the world and leave a trace of goodwill wherever they put their feet on.

These are them.

I will always be grateful of being honored to cover this amazing wedding, but more than that, grateful to receive their trust and their beautiful memories in my hands.

After all, we are all made of them.

We made history.

Angie y Diego https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2019/6/angie-y-diego

I met Angie and she know exactly what she wanted. She was kind enough to tell me that she had been following my work for some time and that she'd love to have me as their photographer. When I met them in person they are my kind of people, free of spirit, humble and creative. Angie is a photographer, and I was a little nervous that I was responsible to be the photographer of a photographer. How tense can that be! But on the wedding day, they gave the the space and freedom I needed and it was a blast. A beautiful and intimate wedding in the middle of the woods, gorgeous decoration and a very loving family around them. Thanks so much guys for letting me part of this, for trusting me, and for being so respectful of my job and making me feel really appreciated.

Helena y Eliseo https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2019/5/helena-y-eliseo Almost all weddings have an engagement session before the wedding and it's a perfect moment to know the couple for

the first time, to break the ice, and for them to know me better and feel more comfortable.

We talked on the phone, we never had a meeting because Helena lived in the States and it was hard.

I met them on the wedding day and honestly, as time passed, I felt as if I had known them for a long time.

Humble, kind and willing to trust me.

That trust, is the best gift we can ever receive as photographers, because we are

the creators of those memories that will remain intact through time.

Thanks guys for allowing me to be part of your story.

For letting me stop time for you.

Zaira + Noé https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2019/4/zaira-no When Zaira and Noé contacted me and I heard their plans of getting married in the mountains I knew there was going to be

an adventure and I definitely wanted to be part of it. They are the coolest guys on earth and they have a very authentic relationship;

and their wedding was, in fact, a statement of that authenticity. It was like a camping trip for everybody, even for me, surrounded

by beautiful mountains and a dense forest, we ate pizza and lasagna for dinner and surrendered to the magic of the light in the middle

of the night.

I will be forever grateful for letting me be part of this amazing experience. What do I remember about that night?

Joy, beautiful tears in the couple's first dance, the most beautiful folk music, people dancing as it if were the last day on earth

and a peaceful and glorious rest after all this emotional roller coaster.

These are the memories that will be with us along the way.

I celebrate your life, guys.

Thanks forever.

No necesariamente.

Abrazo!

Marlon García

¿CUÁLES SON LAS REGLAS PARA MI BODA?/ WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR MY WEDDING? https://www.marlongarcia.com/blog/2019/2/-cu-les-son-las-reglas-para-mi-boda-/-what-are-the-rules-for-my-wedding

¿CUÁLES SON LAS REGLAS PARA MI BODA?, ¿LAS HAY?   /     WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR MY WEDDING? ARE THERE ANY?

¿QUÉ TE GUSTA A TI?

   Sean felices.

   De eso se trata.

ENGLISH VERSION

During these years of meeting many couples in different wedding styles, I have run into brides who suddenly feel a little insecure with some of the "invisible rules" that seem to dominate weddings. Is the getting ready photoshoot a "must"? Do my parents have to be present in it? Do I need to  have my bouquet in the family photos? And suddenly, not knowing how to organize these situations causes some anxiety in the couple about not knowing if they are doing the right thing, if it will be "the correct way", if it is "appropriate", etc ...

Although there are some politeness rules that should be followed out of respect for guests, such as not taking pictures while eating, or ensuring that their food arrives hot at their table, there are many other things that seem to be the rule but are not, that would seem that we are going to look bad if we do not follow them verbatim, and that they will make us look "terrible" in front of society.

For those of us who live in Monterrey, we know that the "social" part is a heavy burden on many couples, who make decisions based on the public image they will generate, and on the opinions of relatives and / or close friends; but you should NEVER forget, at any time, that this is a celebration of YOU TWO, that you are the ones who should enjoy that day first, and that the guests, are just that, guests that will share that time with you.

   YOU SET THE RULES

Something I always want to convey to the couple in the organization of their wedding is that there are no rules. There are not. Really. It is important to know the protocol that is usually carried out, because most of the suppliers have that line, but it is important that you know that it is only a standard, and that the wedding day will be designed by YOU, from the getting ready (where to do it, who will be present, what items you should have ready for it, etc ...), to the fact whether there is a waltz of the couple or not. Yes, you also decide that. I have had a couple of brides who say to me: "Marlon, I do not like to dance, I do not want to waltz, I would have liked to go to enter the dance floor and we hug and that's it", but these brides are under pressure from their family and friends to do the things you "should do".

You do not have to have a getting ready, there are brides who do not feel comfortable being photographed in that part of the day, there are others who are going to a Beauty Salon for make up and hair, or who do not like their house for those photos and booking a hotel room is not within their budget. You do not have to book a hotel room, the wedding FBI will not come to tell you that your wedding is not a "right" wedding because you do not have the getting ready in a hotel room. The Getting Ready is the relaxed moment of the day where you are getting ready for your wedding day, and the photographer is there to photograph what "naturally" happens, your mom who drops a tear, your dog who urinated in the room, your aunt's laughter, the beer that your cousin is having, and in the case of the groom, his friends who are getting ready with him, with everything that happens, like your real life, because as time goes by, your photos of that moment will be a faithful portrait of what your life was like, what awesome you had , the people who were with you and were AUTHENTIC, and that is invaluable through time, because your photos are a capsule that spans the years and generations. It is common when a bride asks: where should I stand? Should you photograph this or not? "YOU CAN HAVE WHATEVER YOU WANT PHOTOGRAPHED!!!!", "YOU ARE IN CHARGE", the photographer can tell you what "usually" is done, but in the end, it's your photos, it's your wedding, and you decide the things you want have a memory of.

And just like the Getting Ready, there are many other examples during the wedding day that make the bride and groom wonder if something is right. The idea is to talk with your planner, with your photographer, about what is usually done, the standards, and from there, take your decisions, choose what suits you, what makes you happy, because end of all, the only thing that remains are your photos; and how wonderful that when you see them you recognize yourself in them, and do not see a girlfriend that you do not know who she is because you tried so hard not to be yourself.

We have reached a point where weddings (many of them) have become a social validation rather than an authentic and free celebration, an event marked by the personality of the couple, a party where the intention is to have fun, have fun as crazy, dance like crazy (if you like that), and feel full on the most important day of their lives; where the fullness and happiness is personal, whether it is a quiet party with jazz, conversation, etc ..., or a crazy party as if we were in a Brazilian festival full of life and tropical music, to have Fillet Mignon and red wine, or pizza and some grilled corn cobs, what do you like to eat?, what would you like to serve to your friends?

Do not get lost, guys. The day of your wedding is a declaration of WHO YOU ARE, it is an authentic moment where you invite your loved ones to share yourselves, to give you a little of you to them, whoever you are.

Be free on your wedding day.
   Be happy.

   That's what it is about.
